I try cases in the courts where I have spent my career. That is a deliberate choice. A lawyer who knows the judge’s habits, the prosecutor’s charging practices, and how the clerk’s office actually runs is worth more to you than a lawyer with a longer list of counties on his website.

This is home. I began my career as an Assistant District Attorney here, spent thirty years defending cases here in private practice, and returned to the DA’s Office from 2018 to 2022 as Chief of the Criminal Trial Division and then Chief of the Major Crimes Division. I know the felony district courts at the Cadena-Reeves Justice Center and the county courts at the Paul Elizondo Tower, and I have tried cases in all of them.
If you or a family member has just been arrested in San Antonio, the first thing that happens is magistration at Bexar County’s central magistration facility, usually within hours. Bond is set there. A lawyer who is involved before that hearing can often affect the bond amount and conditions, and can keep you from talking to detectives before you’ve been advised. I regularly handle serious felony matters across South and Central Texas, including Guadalupe, Comal, Wilson, Atascosa, Kendall, Medina, and Goliad Counties. I was born in Goliad, my family has lived in South Texas since the 1700s, and I know these courthouses well. Each operates under its own rhythm, docket size, and local expectations, and I have achieved success across them all—from complete dismissals to acquittals.
Recently in Guadalupe County, Del Prado Law secured a complete dismissal of multiple severe felony charges for a client facing allegations of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, Indecency with a Child, and Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student. While I focus my practice where I have the greatest impact, I evaluate serious felony matters outside Bexar County on a case-by-case basis to ensure I am the right advocate for the fight ahead.
